This was my first attempt at alcohol markers. Normally, I never make any card identical to something I see online, but this was an experiment to see if I could duplicate the coloring.
This is close to the same coloring sent with the packaging on this rubber stamp. If I do anything like this, it’s for my own purpose and not to send to someone. To me that would be copyright infringement.
This is simply a trial run of coloring with something I’d never used before.
This stamp is made by Stamping Bella and is called “Floral Forest” backdrop.
I like the brightness of the alcohol markers, but there is a lot to learn about them. First lesson: watch some online lessons or You Tube videos for alcohol markers!
With alcohol markers it is easiest to use something like Tim Holtz Alcohol Cardstock or Yupo Cardstock–there are other brands, but I haven’t tried them. Alcohol marker card stock has a plastic feel to it and is not made from tree paper. An advantage is that the colors do not bleed through as they would on paper cardstock.
The yellow centers of the flowers have a bit of Spectrum Noir clear glitter marker.
I now have two brands of alcohol markers Copic and Altenew. They both seem equally good. I haven’t tried other brands of alcohol makers, and I’ve not yet used them enough to become really adept.
