WHO I AM:

I answer to GJ or Glenda for all the people who can’t remember the Schoonmaker part (pronounced like “schoo” as in school.)

Since our children are grown and have families of their own, our household is now my husband, myself, and tons of cat hair–technically it’s two long-haired cats who try to dictate our every move. When I’m working in the craft room, the two felines stare with pleading eyes through the glass dining room door–occasionally I oblige them until they quickly get bored and start knocking all my supplies to the floor.

We love activity and myriad experiences, but we moved to an area which relies more on a rural, quiet lifestyle. We’ve learned to be content watching the weeds grow, bloom, and spread—but thankfully we have tons of seasonal, colorful birds and animals to watch (racoons, squirrels, porcupines, etc).

CARD MAKING:

I’ve recently started making handmade greeting cards. Designing and making cards provides a world of exhilaration because there are so many directions to explore. I have a line of what I callmainstream cards because they use easily obtainable products to make them. I also have a line of “environmentally friendly cardswhich are exclusively made with supplies, produced, and mailed being ECO friendly.

Both lines of cards include all the holidays and special occasions and run the gamut of serious, thoughtful, snarky/(humorous), and animal related (though most animal related are coming soon.)

Hope you look through both lines of cards and find something you like. New cards are always being worked on and posted when they are finished. My desire is to provide joy to people who encounter my cards and hope I can help people through struggles in making their own cards.

THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM:

Oh, I’m totally amiss–why the name Two Paw & Company Designs for a card making company?

A few years ago I knew I wanted to develop a craft or baking line but wasn’t sure which direction to go. I love to bake, but I also have several craft lines I relish doing including making decorative pillows, handmade cards, etc.

We were tossing ideas around for a craft line while we were on vacation in our RV travel trailer. I had just made a simple one layer cake and had it sitting on the edge of a small cabinet. I knew better than to set it there but wasn’t really paying attention. Before I knew it, Coco, the black long-haired cat, jumped across that cabinet with two paws landing in the middle of the cake. I held up the cake and asked my husband, “You want some two-paw cake?”

The area we moved to is too small for a baking outlet or other outlets, so I focused on the world of handmade cards because cards can reach more people and hopefully bring many smiles. The name Two Paw just stuck.
